The Road to the Kentucky Derby has been a long and exciting journey. This Saturday, you can witness history as 20 thoroughbreds and their jockeys race in the Run for the Roses for the coveted Kentucky Derby Trophy. Throughout the day, you and thousands of other derby fans can experience the magic of the Kentucky Derby at historic Churchill Downs—the horses, the races, the mint juleps, the hats!
The 139th Kentucky Derby will take place on Saturday, May 4. The gates will open at 8 a.m. The first race is set to start at 10:30 a.m. The post time for the main event is precisely at 6:24 p.m. To purchase tickets and learn more about the derby, visit the Kentucky Derby website. Admission costs $40 for Churchill Downs general admission.
